An award-winning writer and a comedy legend will perform together at a waterfront theatre.
BAFTA-winning producer-turned-poet, Henry Normal, and comedian, Nigel Planer, will come to Minack Theatre on September 12.
The venue on the cliffs of Penzance will provide the setting for an evening of spoken word, comedy, and poetry.
The pair first took to the stage together during the early 1990s, and reunited in 2023.
Their newly announced dates mark the pair's first full national tour, which will showcase new work as well as reviving classic material from the back catalogues.
Mr Normal’s career spans more than 40 years, and includes writing and producing many well-known TV programmes and films.
He co-wrote and script-edited The Mrs Merton Show, and co-wrote the first series of The Royle Family.
With Steve Coogan, he co-wrote the BAFTA-winning Paul and Pauline Calf's Video Diaries, as well as Coogan's Run, Tony Ferrino, and Doctor Terrible.
He also founded the Manchester Poetry Festival, now known as the Manchester Literature Festival, and is co-founder of the Nottingham Poetry Festival.
Since retiring from TV and film production in 2016, Mr Normal has toured his ever-changing poetry show, in which he finds fun in the familiar, humour in the everyday, and poignancy in the pitfalls of modern life.
In 2018 he recorded an episode of BBC Radio 4's Poetry Please.
His poetry concerns love, life, and family and he has 15 collections currently in print, including the latest, A Moonless Night.
Mr Planer is a critically-acclaimed actor, writer, and musician, best known for his roles as Neil in the 1980s BBC comedy The Young Ones and as Ralph Filthy in Filthy Rich & Catflap.
He is less known but just as prolific in his poetic talent, which he will be bringing to the stage.
His poetry has featured in the Guardian, the 1997 collection Unlike the Buddha, and numerous anthologies.
Many years of his poetry have also been collected into the volume Making Other Plans.
