The air was filled with laughter, live music, and cheers as Helston Fire Station celebrated its 21st anniversary on Sunday.

Thousands of people flocked to the school field next to the station, for a day packed with entertainment and activities.

From bouncy castles and climbing walls to fire demonstrations and vintage vehicles, there was something for everyone. The six-hour event was a whirlwind of fun, with proceeds benefiting Ella’s Memory and the Firefighters Charity

So far, a total of £3,500 has been raised, with more still to come. 

"We’re absolutely thrilled with how the day went," said Mark Skinner, a firefighter at Helston Fire Station. "The feedback has been fantastic, and we’re so grateful to everyone who came out to celebrate with us."

Skinner praised his crew for their hard work, particularly those who were called out to a task during the event

 He also revealed that with the positive response and vibrant community spirit, Helston Fire Station plans to make the anniversary celebration an annual event.

Nigel Rimmer, another firefighter at the station, expressed gratitude to the many who helped make the day a success, including RH Signs, the bands who performed for free, Gordon Martin and Sons Transport, South Western Ambulance Trust for providing an ambulance and crew, and Sharon Rimmer, who tirelessly managed the numerous stalls.
