High-energy comedy ensemble Maybe You Like It will bring their Edinburgh Fringe hit Pleading Stupidity to Falmouth this autumn.

The show, based on a true story, recounts the misadventures of two Australian bank robbers who committed the crime while still wearing their work name tags.

It is aimed at under-30s and will be performed at The Poly on November 7.

Maybe You Like It’s debut tour of Pleading Stupidity follows a sold-out run of Sorry (I Broke Your Arms and Legs) at the 2024 Edinburgh Fringe.

The production was nominated for the Charlie Hartill award at the 2023 Edinburgh Fringe and had a successful London run.

Co-creator Ellie Iley said: "We’ve created a show for our generation.

"As young people who consume content incredibly quickly, we want our entertainment to move as fast as we do."

The show features fast-paced action and verbatim speech delivered by a multi-roling cast.

Producer Jake Morry said: "This is a show for people who love comedy but don’t think theatre is for them.

"It racks up the laughs and ramps up the tension, asking what it means to control how your story is told."

Maybe You Like It has received praise from critics, including The Scotsman, which said: "Funny and fast moving… there’s a deliciously hard edge."

The Independent described the ensemble as a "brilliant company" that is "spectacularly joyful and silly."

The Stage called them "furiously fast" and "painfully funny."

Tickets for the show can be purchased on thepoly.org.

Further tour dates are available at pleadingstupidity.co.uk.

The production is set to be an entertaining evening of comedy theatre for those in Falmouth.

Whether you're a fan of theatre or just looking for a good laugh, Pleading Stupidity promises to deliver.
