Dreaming of getting married on a Cornwall beach, with the waves crashing in the background? Now, that dream can become a reality.
Lusty Glaze Beach has made waves in the wedding industry by becoming the UK's first and only licensed beach venue to offer couples the chance to tie the knot with their feet in the ocean.
Celebrating its 25th year, Lusty Glaze has become one of the UK’s popular coastal wedding venues. It is a destination wedding venue where many couples have exchanged vows on the sand.
However, this year is different as it has become the UK’s first sea ceremony licence holder meaning that the entire beach area entitles the venue to conduct ceremonies up to the low tide mark.
The licence represents an exciting change for the wedding industry in the UK, as couples have previously had to travel abroad for their dream weddings or to have the option to marry in the sea.
Lusty Glaze said that the new opportunity allows couples to be joined by all their friends and family, without the hassle and logistics of marrying abroad.
“With innovation and celebration as the driving force for our team at Lusty Glaze, our new wedding licence means we are the only exclusive venue in the UK where couples can marry with their feet in the ocean,” said Tracey Griffiths, owner of Lusty Glaze Beach.
There’s no other location in the UK that allows couples to get married in the sea, with an exclusive beach just for the couple and their wedding party.
“We're very proud to offer this unique experience in such a beautiful setting, which ensures weddings at Lusty Glaze are truly bespoke,” Tracey said.
Adding to the benefits of a beach wedding, studies such as the ‘Blue Mind’ theory, state that being near the water positively affects your mind, body, and wellbeing and enhances peace and happiness.
Lusty Glaze launches their new wedding season with this at heart and their new licence, confirming an expansive horizon for Lusty Glaze’s 2025 weddings.
The beach has previously been acknowledged for its outstanding beauty. It was crowned ‘Britain's Best Beach’ by The Sunday Times and was the winner of the Hitched Wedding Award 2023.
