All the controversy about the ‘dynamic’ ticket pricing for the Oasis reunion gig tickets 2025 and the announcement of an investigation into the practice by the government gives us an excuse to look back to when the band played one of their last gigs in Cornwall in 2009 before splitting, writes Paul Armstrong.

The news they were reforming for gigs in 2025 broke just as I went on my annual summer break, so I was able to look on all the hoo-ha from afar so apologies for being late to the party for this one!

People queued online for hours to get tickets on Saturday only to be told when they got to the head of the queue that the tickets that cost had £150 had now gone up to over £350 because of high demand.

One thing I do know though is that you didn’t have to pay over £350 for a ticket for the gig at the Eden Project on Tuesday, July 14, 2009, it cost the princely sum of £40. However it had already sold out as the gig had been postponed from the previous year and all the original tickets were still valid.

The Eden Sessions gig was part of the Dig Out Your Soul album world tour and was actually postponed from September the previous year after Noel suffered an injury on stage in Toronto when he was assaulted by a fan.

Reading back my review I’m actually surprised at how much I liked them, embarrassingly so!

During the past two weeks I’ve been pretty stand offish about it all as well!

What I remember of the evening is that it was very wet with the rain not actually pouring but it wasn’t a balmy evening!

It was absolutely rammed with a very laddish crowd as opposed to your more usual genteel Eden audience with lots of “beered-up” blokes shouting into each other’s faces the lyrics of the songs.

I do remember that I found the habit of Liam to constantly put his tambourine between his teeth very irritating though!

It was well known that the Gallagher brothers relationship was in the pits by then and we didn’t know if we were going to get a car crash gig a’la Amy Winehouse in 2007, but the less said about that the better.

But what we got was all the hits and listening back to some of the YouTube videos today it actually gave me goosebumps.

I remember that Liam and Noel studiously ignored each other but other than that I can’t really remember much, so I’ll let the review speak for itself in all its embarrassing detail!

No one argues with the Gallagher brothers, not even the weather
