After a parked camper van caused a bus to get stuck in a narrow road in Penryn, Mylor Bridge has gone one better by having a whole house block one of its main roads.
Villagers trying to get to work this morning along Comfort Road were surprised to find the mobile house on the back of a long trailer pulled by a large truck blocking their way.
On Tuesday a bus got stuck in Helston Road in Penryn after trying to squeeze past a camper van parked on the narrow road blocking it completely.
But Mylor has said ‘hold my beer’ after the Callington’s lorry carrying the house with three escort vehicles became stuck on the corner as it tried to negotiate the bend at the entrance to Comfort Garage.
The problem was first reported at 8am as the vehicle approach Mylor along Comfort Road completely blocking the road as traffic piled up behind.
However when it got to the corner it couldn’t negotiate the bend and became completely stuck causing traffic chaos.
Police were called and even trees were chopped down to try and get it round the corner. Eventually it managed to squeeze round and park by the side of the road to allow traffic to get by.

However this evening the road was blocked again by a recovery van although by 5.45pm to road was reported as being clear and the house was in situ on Willow Close.
Two chaps giving the finishing touches to the underneath of mobile home and they said they had had a dreadful day and it took them two hours to erect the home.
Mylor resident Irene Gardiner told the Packet: “Comfort Road was cut off from where Willow Close turns off from Comfort Road, a little way away from Comfort Garage, because a heavy load vehicle transporting a mobile home got stuck on the corner.
“This blocked the whole road and it is still blocked at five o’clock this evening. Apparently, trees were chopped down around the vehicle this morning, all to no avail. I reckon Comfort Road is now Dis-Comfort Road!”
One Mylor resident said on Facebook: “You honestly wouldn't think the truck had three escort vehicles, one of which could have gone ahead and checked the road was suitable.”
