A neighbour who harassed the woman who lived below him in Penryn and was seen carrying a large kitchen knife outside her home has escaped going to prison.
Simon Brunsden-Brown, of Little Oaks had pleaded guilty to harassment without violence and possession of a knife in a public place when he appeared at Truro Magistrates Court for sentencing last week.
Magistrates heard that between June 2, 2024 and June 8, 2024 he pursued a course of conduct that amounted to the harassment of one of his neighbours.
During that time he made loud banging noises at night, knocked on her windows, waved a clenched fist at her and poured boiling water on to her patio from his window above.
On June 7 he was also spotted in the street with a large kitchen knife in his possession.
For the harassment of the woman, Brunsden-Brown was given a conditional discharge of two years and a restraining order lasting until September 10, 2026.
