The organisation behind Helston Banking Hub said it was "exploring possible new locations" following the news that the existing temporary location is being put up for rent. 

Cash Access UK told the Packet that it was actively searching for both a new temporary location and a permanent home for the banking hub, to continue serving the community.

The current hub - which was always going to be a temporary location from the start - is located on Coinagehall Street, in the former Barclays bank building.

Cash Access UK, the organisation behind the hub, was obligated to open a facility within 12 months, leading to the temporary set-up.

However, just six months on, the temporary hub is being put up for lease through Smart Commercial Property, with the advert saying it will be available from this October - although Cash Access UK told the Packet the existing hub would be in place until the end of November. 

A spokesperson confirmed that despite the property details saying the building would be "available from October 2024" the hub would remain in the current premises "until the end of November" whilst they explored other options.

“Our temporary Banking Hub has proved a real asset to the community of Helston since opening in March this year," a spokesperson told the Packet. 

“The hub will remain in its temporary home at 19 Coinagehall Street until the end of this year [later revised to the end of November] when our current arrangement ends.

"We are already exploring possible new locations for a temporary hub to ensure people can still access cash and banking services while we continue to work hard to progress the permanent location.”

She went on to add: “The team at Cash Access UK are working hard to secure a home for the permanent hub and will provide updates on the location on its website."

Although there is still no update on the location of the permanent hub, Cash Access UK previously told Helston councillors in July 2023 that it would be situated in the town centre.

Now that the temporary Banking Hub building is up for lease, Smart Commercial Property has released details about the building. 

It highlighted the building’s potential for division, making it suitable for multiple businesses or a combination of retail and office space.

The building, currently partitioned into two spaces, offers the following features:
