Police investigating a serious road traffic collision in the St Agnes area have recovered a car they believe was involved and a man has been arrested.
Officers are continuing to appeal for witnesses and information following the collision, a suspected hit and run involving a bicycle and a car.
The incident took place on Goonown Road, between Sevenmilestone and Goonbell, at around 6.15pm on Wednesday, September 18.
The collision involved a pedal cycle and a dark coloured vehicle, which police said left the scene after.
As a result of the collision, the male cyclist was taken to Derriford Hospital by air ambulance with potentially life changing injuries.
Devon and Cornwall Police have now issued an update today (Saturday) to say that a car has been recovered and an an arrest has been made.
A force spokesperson said: "Police have recovered a black Mercedes Coupe that they believe was involved.
"A 28-year-old man from the Truro area has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and other motoring offences. He remains in police custody."
Officers from Devon and Cornwall Roads Policing Team attended the incident and carried out a detailed investigation of the scene.
