The Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) has just released its highly anticipated Good Beer Guide 2025 – which features new additions from across Cornwall.

A total of 13 pubs across the Duchy have officially earned their place in the coveted guide.

The Guide, which lists 4,500 of the best pubs across the UK, is the definitive beer drinker’s guide for those seeking the best pints in the nation’s pubs.

In Cornwall, pubs in locations such as Falmouth, Penzance, Saltash and Bude have made the cut in the 52nd guide's edition.

Here are some of the pubs in Cornwall which have made the Good Beer Guide 2025 for the first time. 

The Boathouse Pub | Beacon Street, Falmouth

Described as “bright and airy” by CAMRA, the Boathouse has been added to the guide for the very first time. The pub has a four out of five rating on TripAdvisor, with many reviewers complimenting its ‘great’ Sunday lunches, and ‘lovely and warm’ welcome.

North Inn | Pendeen

The North Inn stands in the old mining village of Pendeen and is located near the coastal paths and Geevor and Levant mines. CAMRA said that its “good-value menu” features a range of home-cooked curries – which are the landlord’s speciality – as well as traditional fare.

Lemon Arms | Lemon Hill, Mylor Bridge

The 'friendly' pub is home to local sports teams. On TripAdvisor, it is praised for its “excellent food” and “very good service”.

Eliot Arms | Fore Street, St Germans

Three changing beers (sourced regionally; often Dartmoor, Exmoor, Salcombe)

The Eliot Arms has made its debut in the Good Beer Guide 2025 for the first time. CAMRA said: “Everyone is welcome in this ‘local of the local gentry.” The smaller public bar hosts a pool table and dartboard and has a large screen for special events. The main bar is said to be the ‘quiet’ refuge.

Coach and Horses | Kenneggy Downs, Rosudgeon

According to CAMRA, the Coach and Horses was built in 1752 and refurbished in 2016. On TripAdvisor, the pub has a rating of four out of five and is highly praised for its Sunday Roasts.

Famous Barrel | St Thomas Street, Penryn

“A historic and cosy back-street pub situated in a conservation area beside a small river,” is how CAMRA described the Famous Barrel. The Penryn-based pub has made its debut in this year’s guide.

Rising Sun | Mitchell Hill, Truro

In 2023, The Rising Sun was the only pub in Cornwall to be a finalist in the Great British Pub Awards. Unfortunately, the much-loved pub narrowly missed out on being named winner which instead went to Stroud Brewery Taproom in Gloucestershire.

Royal Oak | Duke Street, Lostwithiel

The Royal Oak is another pub in Cornwall which has been rated four out of five on TripAdvisor. One reviewer described the Lostwithiel pub as “beautiful” while others praised its “friendly service.”

The Bencoolen Inn | Bencoolen Road, Bude

The Bencoolen Inn The Bencoolen Inn (Image: Google Maps) CAMRA highlighted the “friendly” and “spacious” Bencoolen in its 2025 guide. According to CAMRA, the pub was named after a ship that was wrecked nearby in 1862.

The Crown | Victoria Square, Penzance

“This back-street local offers a relaxing atmosphere,” is how CAMRA described the Crown. Although food isn’t served here, guests can bring their own.
