First Kernow has announced that there will be changes to bus routes across Redruth for up to three weeks.

This will also have a knock-on effect to anyone travelling from other areas to the town and back.

The route changes will come into force on October 7 and are expected to last up until November 7.

The changes are due to works being carried out by Wales and West beginning on Monday, October 7. You can read more about the works in Redruth here: Gas upgrade work in Redruth to take up to three months: Here's when and where

With a road closure on the junctions of Chapel Street, West End, Fore Street and Penryn Street from October 7 to November 11, the following changes in the bus route are as follows:

T1/T2/T3 (Tinner)

First Cornwall says that the buses towards Redruth ‘will follow the usual route’ to the Mount Ambrose/Sandy Lane junction. However, buses will then divert via Gew Terrace, East End where a temporary stop will be put in place outside Furniture World, Drump Road, Cardew Industrial Estate (A3047) to rejoin the usual route at Barncoose Estate Roundabout.

First Cornwall also stated that the reverse will ‘apply in the opposite direction’ with a temporary stop located on Drump Road near Cardew Lane. These services will not access the Railway Station – connections will be available using the U2 between the Railway Station and Mount Ambrose.
