Line-up ‘Fal Oyster Weekend’ organised by St Michaels Hotel

The festival at the hotel in Falmouth will run over three days, from November 15-17, to celebrate the famed local delicacy and to showcase the importance of Falmouth community spirit.

Doors open on Friday, November 15 at 10.30am, and throughout the weekend, festivalgoers can sample dishes from a range of esteemed local Cornish restaurants such as Indidog and North Street Kitchen, tasting fresh, seasonal dishes which highlight Cornish provenance.

Guests can marvel at demonstrations by renowned chefs such as Jude Kereama, James Strawbridge, Tom Brown, Rupert Cooper, and Hylton Espey, as they showcase how they prepare and incorporate the famous native oyster of Cornwall and other locally sourced produce to create unique and delicious dishes.

Local oystermen will also be in attendance, so visitors can purchase and sample the freshest oysters that have been harvested just down the road from the River Fal Estuary.

Cocktail connoisseurs can attend a mixology masterclass, learn about and sample local wines, and take part in the thrilling oyster shucking competition, where competitors battle it out to prove themselves fastest shucker.

Confirmed musical performances range from local school choirs to sea shanties, including local legends, The Oggymen, who are headlining on the Sunday.

Guests can sing along to some sixties classics with Cornwall's favourite 13-piece soul band Soul Sensations on Friday, and, on Saturday night, folk singer Will Keating will take to the stage, singing songs that celebrate Cornwall's rich history & heritage. Other musical highlights include Holly Turton, Wave Machine, Culdrose Military Wives Choir, and Toby Webb.
