A dedicated karaoke bar is set to make its home in one of St Ives's much-loved seafood restaurants.
The Dead Man’s Locker, Cornwall’s ‘first dedicated karaoke bar’ in Cornwall is set to open at The Rum & Crab Shack on October 10.
With karaoke for up to ten people, friends and family will be able to take over the room to belt out some classic karaoke songs.
The space has been decked out with ‘state-of-the-art audio and visual equipment, comfortable seating and soundproofing. Guests will have the bonus of having Dead Man’s Fingers cocktails brought to the table on tap.
To offer guests the ultimate karaoke experience, the room will feature three lighting modes: disco, neon or ultraviolet.
As well as this, the room can be converted into a private cinema or set up to host listening parties.
Neythan Hayes, co-founder of The Rum & Crab Shack said: “We’re thrilled to offer something completely new in St Ives and as a first in Cornwall.
“This opening pays tribute to our rum, Dead Man’s Fingers, which we created right in this very spot in 2015. The room has undergone a total transformation to offer a space for both locals and visitors to enjoy, whilst also bringing three new permanent job roles to the town.”
Bianna Cozza, Venue Manager at The Dead Man’s Locker added: “When thinking about what could help flatten seasonality in the town, we wanted to create a space that would function all year round.
"As well as offering great drinks and food, The Dead Man’s Locker is a place where visitors and locals alike can come together, even on a dark cold evening and sing their hearts out. So, whether you’re the next Mariah Carey, or your performance could be on the X Factor bloops, the soundproof room has you covered!”
As a special opening offer, all Christmas meal bookings in The Rum and Crab Shack reserved in October will enjoy a free hour of karaoke in The Dead Man’s Locker.
The Dead Man’s Locker is located at The Rum & Crab Shack, Wharf Road, St Ives, TR26 1LG and is open from 12pm to midnight, seven days a week.
