Captain's Day at Cape Cornwall Club raised an outstanding £2,700 for Marie Curie.

The event on September 1, organised by Rob Tredinnick, aimed to aid the charity's Hospice at Home services in Cornwall.

Mr Tredinnick chose the charity in memory of his stepdad, who died from cancer last year.

He said: "I choose the charity after losing my stepdad to cancer in 2023.

"He received such amazing care from all the nurses at Marie Curie.

"It was my way of trying to give something back."

The day featured a golf competition, raffle, and auction.

Mr Tredinnick extended his gratitude to all sponsors and volunteers, including Scott Richards, Dave Law scaffolding, and Maxum Homes Ltd.

He said: "Special thanks go to my other half Vikki Edge for putting up with my stress and mood swings in the run-up and on the day.

"My mum Poppy Figg for helping out with the raffle and other things.

"Lastly and definitely not least, everyone who competed and donated for and on the day, I really couldn't have done it without you."
