These establishments not only offer inviting cosy atmospheres but also boast exceptional food and customer service, as evidenced by glowing reviews on TripAdvisor.
While each pub has its own unique cosy charm, both have consistently received high praise for their culinary offerings and friendly staff.

The most recent review for Gurnard’s Head was left last month. The reviewer praised the pub’s “delicious array of fish, lamb, vegetables and desserts’, as well as the pub’s excellent wine selection’ which accompanied their meal.
Another review: also left in September praised the ‘friendly, attentive and efficient staff’. They also highlighted the Gurnard’s Head’s ‘fantastic Sunday lunch’. The review said: “I generally dislike eating a main meal at lunchtime but was proved completely wrong by the fantastic Sunday lunch at the GH (Gurnard’s Head).
“Generous portion of delicious vegetables and wonderful sirloin beef. Oh, and the Yorkshire pudding was just perfect.
“The puddings in particular were outstanding. A white chocolate ganache and pistachio concoction – we’re still talking about them!”
One review on TripAdvisor highlighted not only Gurnard’s ‘fantastic food’ but also its ‘amazing setting’.

St Kew Inn | Bodmin

More than 1,000 reviews have been left on TripAdvisor the popular pub in Bodmin.
One review left by a happy diner praised St Kew’s Sunday lunch, especially the meat.
“The food is outstanding.
“We had Sunday lunch, probably the best pork I have ever had. This place is beautiful.
“The food is amazing, but the staff, the staff makes this place. They are welcoming, chatty, funny and can’t do enough for you.”
A couple who lives in Cornwall but have never visited St Kew before praised its menu prices, as well as its outstanding food. “The menu looked nice, and the food was outstanding,” the reviewer said.
“Prices were reasonable as the food was a bit more special than your average pub lunch.”
A St Kew Inn regular shared their thoughts on the Bodmin pub. They said: “Lovely country pub with reliably good food service, winter or summer.
“The beer is very well kept, large attractive garden with plenty of seating.
“Have been coming for years, and always good.”
