Officers have since located and arrested a 26-year-old man from Bude.
Kieran Seagar, of Harsham in Bude, was sought in connection with an investigation into criminal damage and assault of an emergency worker.
He is now in police custody.
Members of the public are being told to call 999 if they see this man.

Police are carrying out enquiries to locate him and are asking for the public to help by providing any sightings or information as to his whereabouts.
Seagar is described as white, around 6ft 4ins tall, with short brown hair.
Police said that he might be in Barnstaple, Bude, Launceston or Holsworthy.
A force spokesperson said: “Officers are appealing to the public for their help to trace a 26-year-old man from Bude.
“Kieran Seagar, of Harsham in Bude, is sought in connection with an investigation into criminal damage and assault of an emergency worker.
“Anyone who sees Seagar is asked not to approach him but to call police on 999, quoting reference number 50240222400.
“Information can also be passed anonymously to independent charity Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555111, or via www.crimestoppers-uk.org.”
