Helston Central Methodist Church is calling on the local community to donate tinned goods and other essential items for a special Harvest auction this evening (Friday, October 11).
The auction will take place at the Inn and Still on Coinagehall Street, starting at 7pm. All proceeds will go towards the church's ongoing efforts to support the homeless and those in need.
Rev. Danny Reed, of Central Methodist Church, is appealing for generous donations to ensure the auction's success. In a Facebook post, he stated: "We're looking for any donations, surplus produce, tinned goods, baked goods, or jams."
"Donated items can be brought to the chapel today, or on the night at the Inn and Still."
Danny is encouraging people to consider donating items that could potentially fetch higher prices and raise additional funds for the worthy cause.
Last month, the Packet reported that Helston Central Methodist Church is launching its Storehouse initiative. This initiative will provide essential household items like kettles, toasters, microwaves, and chairs to individuals who may need to furnish their homes.
In addition to the Storehouse, the church continues its vital work of providing hot meals twice a week, shower and washing facilities, and a clothes bank to those less fortunate in the community.
