Cornwall Council is selling a number of its assets at auction this month – including one its roads.
Described as “an unusual lot”, it features parcels of land including roadway and verges in Trethowel, near St Austell. They are coming to auction with a nil reserve.
The council has instructed the sale of the parcels at Bojea Industrial Estate, and together they measure a total of 0.19 hectares (0.47 acres).
They are part of the latest sale by Clive Emson Auctioneers.
Auctioneer David Henwood said: “This is an unusual lot comprising predominantly roadway with some verge land.
“The road provides access to a well-established industrial estate, which may interest some of its tenants or property owners.
“Occasionally these types of lots come to auction and we often find they are in demand.
"Setting a nil reserve gives all parties an opportunity to show an interest while giving the lot the greatest chance to reach its best market value.”
Auction notes state that interested applicants may view during reasonable daylight hours, ensuring they do not cause disturbance to neighbouring occupants.
Another piece of council land up for auction is in St Day.
It comprises a freehold parcel of land next to United Downs Industrial Park and has a guide of £500 plus.
The rectangular shaped site measures 0.18 hectares (0.44 acres).
Finally, former public toilets owned by the council, which come with ‘picturesque riverside views’ near Truro, are going under the auctioneer’s gavel.
The detached block at Malpas are up with a freehold guide price of £30,000.
