Police have put out an appeal for witnesses after an apparently homophobic attack left one man with facial injuries.
Police say the assault on a man in his thirties happened on October 2 in Morrab Gardens, Penzance between 3pm and 3.30pm.
The attacker, who was unknown to the victim threatened him using homophobic language before assaulting him leaving him with facial injuries needing him to be taken to hospital.
Police are appealing for anyone who saw anything to come forward to help with their investigation.
A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Police are appealing for witnesses and information following an assault in Penzance.
"Between 3pm and 3.30pm on Wednesday 2 October a man in his 30s was assaulted by a male unknown to him in Morrab Gardens.
"It was reported that the suspect made threats using homophobic language towards the victim prior to the assault.
"The victim was taken to hospital where he was treated for facial injuries.
"It is believed members of the public may have assisted the victim following the incident.
"Anybody with information which could help investigating officers is asked to contact police on 101 or via our website quoting 50240254620."
