Gweek Players has announced the next production it will stage will be In the Next Room or The Vibrator Play.
The award-winning play by Sarah Ruhl, set in the late 1800s, will be performed at Gweek Village Hall from November 13 to 16.
It explores themes of female frustration and solitude, with humour and poignancy, under the direction of Aline Turner.
Set in New York City, the narrative goes into the early history of the vibrator, when doctors used it as a clinical device to relieve women of ‘hysteria’.
