One of Helston's much-loved charity shops, Your Voice Cornwall's Re-Loved Boutique, will be closing its doors this Friday after two years of trading in the heart of town.

Natasha Long founder of the business and manager Andi said it was with a "heavy heart" to announce the closure of the charity shop.

Despite initial plans to try to go through to spring, the decision to close was driven by several factors.

Health difficulties experienced by some of the teams have impacted the shop's operations, while a steady decline in footfall has made it increasingly difficult to maintain the business and fund the crucial peer support groups Your Voice Cornwall supports.

"It with a heavy heart that it’s time to say goodbye to our boutique and Friday, October 25 will be our last day of trading,” Natasha said.

“We had hoped to see it through to spring but with so many factors working against us, it’s proven to be impossible.

“It’s no secret that some of our teams have been struggling with their health and this has had a huge impact on our decision. We are also faced with an ever-declining footfall which leaves us struggling to keep the shop going, as well as fund our peer support groups.”

Natasha and Andi said they are both “completely devastated” that the shop, which opened in Coinage Hall Street in May 2022, will close, but have shared their gratitude to those who have supported them.

Natasha added: “We are so grateful for all it has become, the wonderful people who have joined us on the team since we opened in 2022 and, of course, the incredible people who have visited us and supported us in the shop.

“And of course, a massive thank you to every single person who has walked through our doors – be it to grab a bargain, donate some goods or to just have a chat.

“Each and every one of you helped us to support women’s mental health across Cornwall and that’s pretty amazing.”

As well as this, Natasha also praised the business community of Helston for its “love and respect” of one another.
