Three people have been taken to hospital, one by air ambulance, after a serious crash in Redruth.

Emergency services were called to East End just before midday today (Saturday) following a collision between a car and motorbike.

As a result of the incident one casualty was airlifted to hospital, while another two were taken to hospital in an ambulance.

The road was closed by police while investigations were carried out at the scene and the road was cleared.

Giving an update this afternoon, Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service said a crew from Tolvaddon Fire Station was also involved.

A spokesperson said: “Tolvaddon Fire Station attended this incident with a fire appliance and the rescue tender, along with a Flexi Duty Officer.

“The incident involved a motorbike in collision with a car, with one casualty trapped in the car and two other casualties from the motorbike.

“Police were at the incident and closed the road, as well as ambulance personnel who dealt with the casualties.

“Fire crew assisted and made the vehicle and scene safe.

“Two casualties were taken to hospital via land ambulance and a third was taken via air ambulance.

“Crews have now left the scene and the incident is now in the hands of the police.”
