The bottomless brunch craze is sweeping Cornwall and beyond giving friends and families the perfect excuse to indulge in unlimited food and drink.

Lucky for us, Cornwall boasts a selection of popular of venues catering to this much-loved and unique experience.

To experience this growing phenomenon firsthand, Packet reporter Kate Lockett headed to Porthleven on a glorious October Saturday.

My friend Hannah and I, both avid fans of good food and spirits, decided to take the plunge and experience our first-ever bottomless brunch at Bolla in Porthleven, writes Packet reporter Kate Lockett.

We were greeted with warm smiles from the lovely waitresses, Jessica and Ella, and the fabulous owner and head chef, Jamie Gasdare.

We started with an Aperol Spritz, soaking up the lively atmosphere from inside Bolla, and people embracing the warm Autumn sun in Porthleven.

For our first round of food, we couldn't resist the olives, cheesy fries, Spanish tortilla, and Cornish blue cheese with honey and walnuts.

The olives and pickles were a perfect starter, and we both liked the look of the Spanish tortilla.

Our first choice was the Spanish tortilla, Cornish blue cheese with honey covered walnuts, cheesy fries, and olives Our first choice was the Spanish tortilla, Cornish blue cheese with honey covered walnuts, cheesy fries, and olives (Image: Hannah Walton) I suggested mixing the tortilla with the blue cheese, and walnuts with honey. The combination was described by Hannah as a “true taste sensation”, and the perfect pairing for our Gin and Tonics.

Our second round was brought out and included focaccia, balsamic, rapeseed oil, a cheese toastie, hummus and flatbread, and spiced broad beans. The focaccia was light and airy, the hummus smooth with a hint of nuttiness, and the cheese toastie generously filled with high-quality cheese.

After finishing our drinks, and food, we both left Bolla feeling satisfied and impressed by the quality of the food, the service, and the overall experience.
