A holiday park in Cornwall has been awarded top marks following an inspection by Visit England.

The Doublebois Holiday Park, on the bank of the River Fowey, was assessed on various characteristics, such as cleanliness, accommodation quality, restaurant standards, staff helpfulness, and facilities.

After being scrutinised over 76 categories, it was awarded the five-star grading for achieving over 87 per cent.

Jim Forward, CEO of Hoburne Group, said: "It’s a real coup for the park to be recognised by Visit England, who are among the most important names in the tourism business.

"It’s especially pleasing because all their assessors are hospitality trade professionals.

"They really know when a company is going above and beyond to provide the best possible holiday experience for their customers, which is what we always strive to do.

"Obviously, it’s great from a company perspective in that we hope it will give holidaymakers the confidence to spend their precious money and time with us.

"Even more important than that is the recognition it gives for all the people who work here and who put so much effort into making stays at Hoburne Parks truly memorable.

"They are the real heroes here, and I can’t thank them enough for making it possible for us to win these fabulous grades."

All of Hoburne's parks across the south of England that were assessed for this year’s gradings achieved either four or five stars.

Visit England is not the only big name to praise Hoburne for its parks, as the company was recently named as one of the best in the country by consumer champion, Which?, with its gold standard, Recommended Provider Status.
