The owner of one of Helston's independent shops has shared her gratitude for customer support after announcing the business will close.

Sadie Day, of 90’s Club Vintage on Meneage Street has announced on the business’s Facebook page this evening (Thursday) that it will close next month.

“After much consideration, we’ve made the difficult decision to close our shop. It has been an incredible journey, and we are deeply grateful for all of the support, love, and loyalty you’ve shown us over the last year.

“While this chapter is coming to an end, we are proud of what we’ve built together. Every purchase, every visit, and every interaction has meant so much to us. Thank you for allowing us to be part of your town.”

Sadie announced that the shop will officially close on Christmas Eve, 2024, with items currently on sale are now up to 60 per cent off.

Sadie opened the doors to her clothes shop, 90’s Club Vintage on Tuesday (August 15) in Meneage Street.

Her passion for fashion is something she has shared with other female members of her family. Her mother Clair Leppington (Day) gained a degree in fashion, whilst her grandmother worked in fashion.

Clair sadly passed away in September 2022 and wanted to own her own clothes shop in the 90s.

“My mum always talked about wanting to own her own clothes shop in the ‘90s,” Sadie told the Packet at the time of opening the shop.

“She wanted to own a shop selling ‘clubbing’ clothes which she had made herself.”

Her mother’s death inspired Sadie to go ahead and fulfil her dream. Sadie said: “Mum’s passing has inspired me. Putting everything together, I know she would be so proud. She always said whatever we do in life, she would be proud of us.”

Although this chapter is now closing for her, Sadie  told the Packet that she was “proud of herself for coming this far.”

“I’m all okay, I’m honestly proud of myself, I started this at the age of 21 and need to take a step back to see how far I’ve come, I know mum would be proud as well.”
