An emotional night-time charity walk has raised £32,000 for a children's hospice.
The Moonlight Memory Walk, organised by Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW), took place at The Lost Gardens of Heligan on November 9, with more than 270 people taking part.
It was held to raise money for the charity, which runs the Little Harbour children's hospice in Porthpean, near St Austell.
Many participants wore handwritten dedications to their loved ones and attended a special memory ceremony.
At the ceremony, dedications to loved ones were played on a screen, and poems were read by Little Harbour staff.
There was also a speech from Mike and Nicola Brown, who used the hospice in 2019 for their son Oliver, and a live performance from St Mewan Community Choir.
The ceremony ended with a minute's applause and silence.
Along the walk, there were several stops where participants could light a candle, make a bracelet, leave a name and message in a book, and make a fingerprint on a canvas to remember their loved ones.
Kiley Pearce, events fundraiser for CHSW, said: "The evening was really magical; there was a lovely contrast of quiet contemplation and remembering alongside an uplifting atmosphere.
"The event provided an opportunity for those taking part to connect with each other and share happy memories."
Little Harbour provides free support to children with life-limiting illnesses and their families, including respite, palliative care, end-of-life care, and bereavement support.
It also offers resilience stays and support in families’ own homes.
The Moonlight Memory Walk was sponsored by CHX products, PKF Francis Clarke, and Stephens Scown Solicitors, meaning all the sponsorship raised can go towards the care and support offered to local families.
It was also supported by CTC Medical Services and The Cornish Oven.
