Falmouth is gearing up for a festive season brimming with events.
The town will kick off its Christmas celebrations with the much-anticipated Christmas Lights Switch-on event on Thursday, November 28.
This event marks the official start of the Christmas season in Falmouth, with hundreds of people expected to gather to witness the illumination of the town by a community-nominated individual.
Schoolchildren will also perform carols and Christmas songs, contributing to the festive atmosphere alongside choir performances before and after the 7pm switch-on.
The Christmas Tree Festival will follow shortly after, running from Sunday, December 1 until Thursday, January 2.
Community groups will decorate their trees with different themes, and all the trees will be illuminated in a grand switch-on celebration on December 1.
They will be on display at the Princess Pavilion until January 2, providing a beautiful spectacle for all to enjoy.
The festivities continue with the much-loved Festive Weekend on December 7 and 8, from 11am to 5pm both days.
Local businesses and the community will come together to create a Christmas spirit across the town.
This year, visitors can look forward to an artificial ice rink, a snow globe photo attraction, a curling lane, and snow machines on Church Street.
These new attractions will complement the Christmas Marquee, which will host an arts and crafts market and Santa’s Grotto.
Harmony Choir will once again fill the streets of Falmouth with festive songs on Christmas Eve.
The choir, which has been doing this for over 100 years, will gather near The Five Cyderhouse before making their way through the town, entertaining the crowds with traditional Cornish carols.
They will conclude their carol-singing at The Moor around 12.30pm.
For those wishing to join the choir, there will be two informal practices at the Sports Club on December 1 and December 15.
Beyond the traditional festive favourites, new activities and offers have also been lined up.
The Poly Christmas Market from December 6 to 8 will showcase unique gifts created by local artists and craftspeople.
Falmouth Art Gallery will host a family-friendly day with free workshops on Saturday, December 7.
The National Maritime Museum Cornwall (NMMC) will offer free museum entry on both days to support Falmouth’s Festive Weekend.
Falmouth Fire Station will transform into a festive drive-through Christmas Grotto on December 15 and 16.
From December 19 to 22, Pendennis Community Centre will host Christmas drive-in movies, allowing families to enjoy festive films on the beautiful Falmouth headland.
To support all the festivities, Cornwall Council-managed car parks will offer three free parking days on Saturday, December 7, Saturday, December 14, and Monday, December 23.
These events aim to boost the town's festive spirit and encourage residents to support local businesses during the holiday season.

The town’s official Facebook page, Falmouth Cornwall UK, will also provide updates on the festivities.
Residents and visitors alike are encouraged to share their festive images using the hashtag #FalmouthChristmas on social media.
