St Ives Tennis Club in Cornwall has donated £700 to the Cornwall Air Ambulance.
The money was raised during a recent charity tennis and pickleball day.
During a visit to the air ambulance headquarters near Newquay Airport, the club members experienced first-hand how quickly the crew responds to emergencies.
Their discussion with the pilot and paramedics was cut short when an emergency call came in, and the crew had to leave within minutes.
The helicopter, an AW169, was airborne in less than five minutes.
The tennis club expressed delight in contributing to the HELi2 appeal, which aims to raise £2.8 million.
The funds are needed to purchase a second £9.7 million helicopter.
This will allow for more hours of service for the non-government funded service in Cornwall.
