A popular sea view pub in Cornwall is to temporarily close from New Year’s Day until Easter to undergo “significant” renovations.
Verdant Brewing Co. has announced new plans for an “exciting and thoughtful transformation” of the iconic Seaview Inn in Falmouth.
It says it is “A chance to breathe a fresh, vibrant, frankly Verdant breath of air into the site, and help it establish itself as a keystone of the local community for the next few decades and beyond.”
Starting January 1, 2025, the pub on Wodehouse Terrace will temporarily close to undergo significant renovations, designed to breathe fresh life into this cherished venue, while preserving its heart and character.
The pub is scheduled to reopen with, what Verdant calls, renewed spirit just in time for Easter.
“By drawing inspiration from the pub’s surroundings, local community, and unique character, we’re aiming to give the Seaview Inn a new lease on life,” said Alex Morrall, venues manager for Verdant Brewing Co.
“Our goal is to create an ageless, welcoming space that locals can call their own, while also inviting the wider Verdant community to enjoy a true taste of Falmouth when visiting our home at the end of the world.”
With a focus on keeping the core essentials intact, the renovation will result in a comfortable and cosy environment, where patrons can enjoy a day, night, or weekend surrounded by the spirit of “The View.”
“From sharing stories over a pint to savouring home-cooked meals, the Seaview Inn will be a place to gather, unwind, and connect,” says Verdant.
During this transformation, Verdant Brewing Co. says it is committed to crafting a space that offers something for everyone.
“Whether it’s finding a quiet corner to read, trying one’s hand at darts or pool, chatting nonsense at the bar or joining local fishermen in recounting tales of the sea, the Seaview Inn will be the perfect venue for all.
A Temporary Closure for Lasting Impact To allow for a comprehensive renovation, the Seaview Inn will close on January 1, 2025.

Verdant Brewing Co. expects the work to be completed within four months, with a grand reopening planned for April 2025.
“We’re excited to welcome everyone back to the Seaview Inn,” added Alex. “By Easter, we’ll be ready to open the doors to a refreshed and revitalized space that remains true to its roots, ready for new memories to be made”.
Verdant was founded in 2014 by three friends and says it is committed to producing innovative brews and fostering vibrant spaces for all to enjoy, including their Seafood Bar in Falmouth, the Taproom in Penryn and Schooners Beach Bar in St Agnes.
The company says The Seaview Inn renovation is the latest step in Verdant’s dedication to enriching the Falmouth community.
