A man based at RNAS Culdrose has appeared before Truro magistrates court charged with rape.
Matthew Boots, 40, of RNAS Culdrose, HMS Seahawk, Culdrose Road, Helston appeared in Truro Magistrates’ Court on Monday, November 11.
He is charged with the rape of a woman 16 years of age or over on October 8, 2022.

No plea was given and the case was transferred straight to Truro Crown Court for a plea and directions hearing on December 20 as magistrates did not have the power to deal with this type of charge.
Boots was released until that date on unconditional bail.
