A fire that ripped through the lounge of a house in Cornwall is now the subject of a fire investigation.
Firefighters from Cornwall responded to a fire in the lounge of a property in St Columb on Tuesday (November 19).
One appliance from St Columb and two from Newquay Fire Station attended the incident at a three-storey detached property in St Columb.
Upon arrival, firefighters were faced with the blaze which had broken out on the ground floor lounge.
To tackle the fire, firefighters used extensive resources including four breathing apparatus, one covering jet, one safety jet, two hose reels, and one thermal imaging camera.
A spokesperson for Cornwall Fire and Rescue said: “One appliance from St Columb and two from Newquay Fire Station attended this incident.
“The incident involved a three-storey detached domestic property with a fire in the ground floor lounge.
“Crews used four breathing apparatus one covering jet, one safety jet, two hose reels and one thermal image camera to tackle the fire.
“The cause of the fire is unknown and will be investigated by a Fire Investigation Team.”
