A Cornwall vet has become one of the only practices in the UK to receive ‘outstanding’ accreditations for exceptional standards in all areas.
Rosemullion Veterinary Hospital in Falmouth has earned this rating for a number of points accumulated by external inspectors from the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) over two days.
In addition, the vets also were awarded several awards for their hard work and dedication. These include:
- Patient Consultation Service
- Diagnostic Service
- Emergency and Critical Care Service
- In Patient Service
- Client Service
- Team
- Professional Responsibilities
- Environmental Sustainability Award.
Victoria Musk, Head Veterinary Nurse at Rosemullion Vets, said: “We’re extremely proud of our seventy-five colleagues to be one of the first and only practices to attain all seven RCVS ‘outstanding’ awards. It’s an incredible achievement.
“Our practice has worked hard to reach and maintain the highest standards – to give the patients the level of treatment they deserve.
“In addition, we try to create a supportive team culture within the practice to make it a great place to work.
“We are thrilled that all our hard work – over the many months and years – has now been recognised as ‘outstanding’ by the RCVS.”
- Launched in 2015, the RCVS Practice Standards Awards is a voluntary scheme, that enables vets to accredit their practices in a range of specific areas. It is done via a thorough external inspection and assessment by an inspector from the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons which normally lasts two days. The practice is awarded points against set criteria and the number of points accumulated determines if they achieve a ‘good’ or ‘outstanding’ rating. It is very unusual for a practice to apply for so many awards and only a tiny minority will gain all seven awards.
