Penzance was able to put up its 25ft Christmas tree just in time before the arrival of Storm Bert.
The Cornish-grown tree was secured into position on Friday morning, in front of the statue of Humphry Davy in the town centre.
It comes ahead of the Christmas lights switch-on this Saturday.
Purchased by Penzance Council from Santa Trees in Liskeard, the tree was transported by A R Newport and lifted into place with a crane.
Extra precautions were taken to ensure the tree was secure before the arrival of Storm Bert.
The branches will be covered with lights now the storm has passed.
Amy Simons, operations officer at Penzance Council, said on Friday: "We haven't put the lights up yet, because we've got Storm Bert coming in this weekend.
"We're going to let the tree settle in, but we may have to come back on Monday morning to re-straighten it after the really high winds.
"And then, later on next week, we'll put the Christmas lights up, all ready for the Penzance Christmas Lights Switch On next Saturday, 30 November."
The Christmas tree was left to 'settle' over the weekend before being checked this morning (Monday) for any damage.
