A woman has been left with potentially life-changing injuries and a young teenage girl is in hospital following a three-vehicle crash in Cornwall on Tuesday.
Police investigating a serious road traffic collision involving three vehicles near St Issey, not far from Padstow, are now appealing for any witnesses to come forward - including anyone with dashcam footage of the incident, or who may be able to identify a white lights good vehicle that left the scene.
Officers were called at around 8.25am on Tuesday (November 26) to reports of collision involving a blue Mercedes, a white Isuzu light goods vehicle and another, unidentified, white light goods vehicle on the A389.
The unidentified vehicle left the scene before emergency services arrived.
As a result of the collision, a young teenage girl, who was a passenger in the Mercedes, sustained serious injuries and was taken initially to the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro before being transferred to Bristol Children’s Hospital.
The driver of the car, a woman in her 30s, sustained potentially life-changing injuries and was also taken to hospital for treatment.
Two other children in the car had minor injuries, as did the driver of the white Isuzu.
Police say the driver of the unidentified white light goods vehicle is yet to be located.
Officers from the Alliance Armed Response, local officers and the Roads Policing Team attended the scene. Once an investigation had been conducted, the road was re-opened at around 3.30pm.
A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said: "If you witnessed the incident or have any information or dashcam footage that could help with enquiries, please contact police via our website here or by calling 101 quoting log number 174 of 26/11/24."
