A popular pasty shop in Cornwall has reportedly closed its doors for good.

According to social media reports, Pengenna Pasties on High Street in St Ives has closed.

However, while the St Ives shop may have shut its doors, Pengenna’s other Cornwall locations in Bude and Tintagel remain open.

One customer described the popular shop, which has a 4.5 rating on TripAdvisor, as the ‘biggest and best’ pasty they had ever had. Others complimented the meat and ingredients. Many also praised the shop's selection of baked goods.

TripAdvisor reviewers have raved about Pengenna's pasties, praising the "incredible," clearly homemade quality, "really nice meat and ingredients," and the absence of gristle.

The friendly staff also received high marks, along with the "fantastic vegetarian pasties," described as "full of veg and amazing shortcrust pastry," consistently hot and fresh.

The company's website - which is yet to be updated regarding any closure - notes a long history of crafting pasties using a family recipe since 1985, stating: “Pengenna Pasties have been making and baking pasties since 1985 using original family recipes.

“We offer a range of six mouth-watering flavours: Traditional Steak, Steak & Stilton, Lamb, Vegetable, Cheese & Onion and Vegan Pasties.”
