Day 4: Sunday, 25/02/07
Once again I attempt to create a sponsorship page on the Race for Life website – once again I am informed that this is not possible. Not sure what is going on with their server, but it’s getting a little frustrating now.
Sunday is traditionally supposed to be a day of rest – not when you’re in training it’s not. It can be difficult to find the time for exercise during the week, with late deadline days and evening council meetings, so when the weekend comes around I have decided to take full advantage of my spare time – Friday evenings and Sunday afternoons is a pattern I hope to continue.
Spend another hour at the gym, this time making use of all the equipment for five or six minutes each, except the treadmill which I use for 13 minutes. My aim is to work on stamina on Fridays and general fitness on Sundays. Leave the gym feeling energised, which is encouraging, as opposed to the “I think I’m about the faint”, eyes-glazed, head-spinning state I left in on Friday. Stamina is obviously not something I was presented with at birth.
Am a little perturbed that I have begun to put ON weight rather than lose it. While this is more about raising my fitness levels and completing the run come May 20, rather than losing weight, it would be nice if shifting a few pounds were a happy by-product. I optimistically put the slight gain down to new muscles I must surely be developing…
