Falmouth fire crews rushed to St Thomas Street, Penryn this afternoon after fire broke out in a fish and chip shop.
Two appliances attended. Firemen entered the building to extinguish the fire using breathing apparatus.
One dry powder extinguisher and a fire blanket to extinguish the fire soon had the fire under control.
Traffic in the town was held up for a time.
The fish and chip shop is popular among local people and well used.
