Intrepid Westcountry sailor Pete Goss is about to set off on the second leg of a journey sailing from the UK to Australia in his wooden fishing boat.
The boat, a specially built Cornish lugger, the Spirit of Mystery reached Cape Town in South Africa just before Christmas where family members joined Pete and his crew of three.
They were due to set off yesterday on their voyage recreating a 150-year-old trip by a group of Cornishmen. They hope to make it to Australia by the end of February.
