Residents will not have a chance to speak on proposed conversion plans for Helston Community Centre at the next town council planning meeting, as it has been cancelled.

The town council has taken the decision to cancel the meeting scheduled to take place next Thursday, as the only application out for consultation related to plans to convert Helston’s community centre into 12 flats – which was the council’s own application.

Town clerk Chris Dawson said that the plans for the community centre were available from his office at the Guildhall in Coinagehall Street.

He added that anyone who wanted to give their views about the plan should do so directly to Kerrier district council in writing or via its website, by January 26.

Would you have liked a meeting about the plans or are you happy just to give your views directly to Kerrier council? You can tell the Packet your thoughts about this and about the application itself by writing in the comment box below.
