Cornwall took a battering last night as winds of up to 80mph hit the whole of the county.
Police said they had received reports of "numerous" trees coming down on roads and in gardens.
Just after 7pm yesterday, in Tarrandean Lane, Perranwell Station, a tree fell on top of a car parked in a driveway, clipping the house as it fell.
Strong winds have also caused problems with roof tiles falling from roofs right around the county.
Last night also saw heavy rain and hail storms, causing problems with flooding in some places.
At Redruth two cars became trapped as water levels rose, although no one was reported injured.
Last night police were advising that only "essential" journeys should be carried out and the MET office issued severe weather warnings across the region.
