CAMERA CLUB: The photo journalism subjects presented at the latest session were both varied and interesting. Slide presentations were given by Elizabeth Allen and Alan Cox.

The delightful spectacle of the Tall Ships Regatta was Elizabeth’s contribution, whereas Alan journeyed to the capital and screened images obtained while traversing the River Thames and also highlights of the City of London at nightfall.

The digital projected images of Albert Turkington displayed areas of larger subjects and gave pleasing studies of impact and colour. A building extension was faithfully recorded by Paul Young and contained many wrinkles that house-owners with alterations in mind could well benefit.

A tour of the feature of Kennall Vale when the water courses were at their most active were contained in David Buckby’s contribution and included anecdotes of the area’s former activities.

Bill Hunt’s images of pristine vintage and veteran cars of various models and makes received a nostalgic reaction and the exciting spectacle of hill climbing at Blue Hills was well captured.

Finally, Peter Cornes delivered a scenic journey along the former path of the Redruth and Chacewater railway that included the Devoran and Carharrack areas.

Daniella Buckby made sure the showings went smoothly with her operation of the projection equipment. Guest speaker at the club’s meeting on January 22 will be David Johnson, who has a keen interest in flower photography. Meetings are held at the Athenaeum Club on Thursdays at 7.30pm.
