METHODIST CHURCH: The evening service was a Songs of Praise, compiled and led by Maureen Jackett. Based on the Lord’s Prayer, members of the congregation considered the familiar words, phrase by phrase, each accompanied by an appropriate reading and hymn.
At the start of the service, as a means of introduction, the Millennium Prayer, sung by Cliff Richard, was played. As a conclusion everyone was given a post card of the Lord’s Prayer in Cornish, which was read by Graham Jackett illustrating that the familiar words are repeated in all languages.
Readers were Malcolm Noble, Graham Jackett, Luke Bennett, Cathleen Devereux, Emily Hotchkiss. The organist was Morwenna Bennett.
FLUSHING CHAPEL: On Sunday at 6pm the congregation of St Peter’s Church will be welcomed for the annual Service of Christian Unity. It will be led by the Rev Rose Westwood and the preacher will be the Rev Andrew Stevenson.
