An aeroplane has crashed while taking off from Land’s End aerodrome.

Emergency services were called just before 3pm today following reports of a twin-engined, fixed wing air craft colliding with a hedge during take off.

A police spokesman said: “Investigators will be checking accounts that the aircraft lost power while attempting a take off. It ran off the runway and into a hedge, never leaving the ground.”

Three people were onboard the aeroplane. Two people managed to get off the aircraft almost immediately, although one was trapped onboard.

All three of the occupants are now safe and they suffered only minor injuries.

The Air Accident Investigation Board will be notified as a matter of course.
