Sheet ice has forced the main road out of Cornwall to be closed this morning.
After numerous accidents the A30 from Bodmin to Okehampton was shut.
The area around Temple, east of Bodmin, has been called particularly dangerous.
A spokesman said that while workers are gritting the entire stretch of road will be closed in both directions until further notice.
