Penryn face their second tough January away game this coming Saturday, when they travel to second placed Okehampton, who are trailing The Borough by only four points, but with two games in hand.

Tavistock and Truro, the other two teams on 18 points have home games, Truro versus Plymstock Albion Oaks, who have won only four of their eleven games, whilst Tavistock entertain Bideford in what will probably be a hard fought game.

After winning against Penryn, Bideford will be keen to improve their position, whilst in form Tavistock will very much want to stay in the race. It has all become very exciting, and highlights the competition between the top six clubs in the league, and also the widening gap between these teams and the lower half of the division.

If there are to be four clubs promoted to Western Counties West, and this has not yet been confirmed, it will probably be between these six clubs, so the next four weeks are crucial.

Okehampton appear to have the hardest task, with games versus Penryn, Bideford and Crediton, who they play in a re-arranged fixture at Okehampton on 7th February. Thate day Penryn are away to Truro in the first round of the Skinners Brewery Cornwall Knock Out Cup.

Crediton were leading Okehampton when the game was called off a few weeks ago. The fixtures for those top six clubs for the next four weeks are as follows: Penryn. Jan 24. - Okehampton (A); Jan 31 – OPM’s (H); Feb 14 – Hayle (A). Okehampton. Jan 24 - Penryn (H); Jan 31 – Bideford (A); Feb 7 - Crediton (H); Feb 14 – OPM’s (A). Truro. Jan 14 – Plymstock AO (H); Jan 31 – Falmouth (A); – Crediton (H). Tavistock. Jan 24 – Bideford (H); Jan 31– Plymstock AO (H); Feb 14 – Falmouth (H). Crediton. Jan 24 – Hayle (A); Jan 31 – Saltash (H); Feb 14 – Truro (A). Bideford. Jan 24 – Tavistock (A); 31 Jan – Okehampton (H); Feb 14 – Plymstock AO (A).

So The Borough’s game at Okehampton is almost a four pointer, a win will put them further ahead of the chasing pack, whilst losing could make the race for promotion very much harder, particularly if Truro and Tavistock record home wins.

For supporters travelling to Okehampton the kick-off will be at 14:30. The coach will leave at 10:00, and there are seats available.
