Pupils from Penryn College have been exploring life as music industry moguls.

The project, which grew out of a enterprise day project, saw the year 10 students work with a real rock musicians to discover all about the various jobs in world of music.

Joining the young music moguls were, Ryan Jones, Rich Mulryine, Stewart Trewella and Daniel Cole from Cornish band The Hitchcock Rules.

The 24 students were selected for the project after taking part in a Dragons' Den style competition at the school.

All the students' hard work will come to fruition at a gig by the band to be held at Princess Pavillions on February 12.

The band will be wearing the clothes chosen by the pupils while posters and advertising designed by the students will be on display.

Creative art officer at the school, Rebecca Hulbert said: "It is about getting people from outside the school to come and work with the students and to give them a real insight into different professions "The project is all about showing how a marketing company works in the real music industry.

"The pupils have been amazing and have been working through their breaks because it has really charged their imaginations."

Singer with The Hitchcock Rules, Ryan Jones said that the band became involved because they see music slipping away from being local in these days of iTunes and MySpace and they wanted the students to have a better understanding of how the industry works.
