Pupils at Mylor Bridge primary school now have boxes full of fun hand puppets thanks to their fundraising efforts.

The school has bought the farmyard, jungle, woodland and safari puppets to help with language skills and for use in lessons.

Head teacher at the school Chris Lea said: “We have been able to buy a huge number of the glove puppets and they will be used to improve listening and speaking skills.

He added that children often feel more comfortable speaking about certain issues through a puppet and they would be very useful and of course, a lot of fun.

Will Clarke from bank HSBC, which matched the schools fundraising total was on hand to hand over a cheque for £500.
