The director of this year’s pantomime in Carleen has warned he risks being bald by the end of the production unless vital props can be found.

Dugg Polman, director of Carleen Pantomime Group who are this year stage Beauty and the Beast, said that he was tearing out what little was left of his hair in the search for the props.

He has now issued an appeal through the Packet asking for the loan of old army tins hats, two World War Two gas mask satchels, a large candelabra, a large first aid bag and a large leather chair.

The cast need to borrow the items during the second two weeks of February.

Mr Polman said: “We would be very grateful for the loan and use of these items, as it will be an extremely poor show without them.”

He added that the pantomime supported two charities in the area, with any surplus money going towards the group’s next production.

With rehearsals in full swing the stage manager Graham Higginson, his wife Carole and several other members have been out and about looking for the necessary items, but to no avail.

The group would need to borrow the items from February 6 until February 23 and would be happy to come and collect the items.

Anyone who can help should get in touch with Mr Polman on 01736 763719 or 01736 334670 during office hours, to prevent him from becoming even more follically challenged.
