THREE local families have moved into new homes in Shortlanesend thanks to social landlord Coastline Housing, working in partnership with Carrick District Council and the Homes and Communities Agency.

The new 3-bedroom bungalows, part of a larger development by a private developer, were purchased by Coastline to rent out to local people in need of affordable housing and mark the landlord’s first properties in the Carrick district.

Moving into one of the properties was Lee Curgenven, with his wife Lee-Ann and two children. Lee, a gardener with Truro City Council, was thrilled about the prospect of moving into a home with more room for his family. He said: “I love it. It’s a home that will make my wife and kids happy, and that’s all that matters to me!”

Michelle Foster, Director of Development at Coastline Housing, adds: “Coastline was thrilled to allocate its first homes in the Carrick district, and make three families so happy in the process. Until now, we have predominantly operated in the Kerrier district, but appreciate that many people all over the county are in dire housing need and we’re committed to developing and purchasing new homes wherever they are needed.

“In addition to these three new properties in Shortlanesend, we are also in the process of building a variety of homes for rent and shared ownership in Falmouth, Redruth and St Ives, all of which we hope will make a difference to local people in need of a home of their own.”
