After nearly three months of public scrutiny four highly talented photographers have been chosen as winners in the National Trust Trelissick Photographic Competition 2008.
The winner in the 17 and under Hidden Nature category for was Greg Wills, Falmouth, 18 and over, Rachael Bromage, Carnon Downs.
In the Plant and Partners c ategory, 17 and under winner was Connie Bennett, and the 18 and over, Hugh Symonds, St Agnes.
Throughout last year visitors to the 30 acre garden and 250 acre estate sent their images into either one of the two categories in the competition – ‘Hidden Nature’ or ‘Plant Partners’ Well known photographer David Chapman from Hayle, helped National Trust staff shortlist six entries per category – three junior and three senior. The twelve photographs then went on display to visitors throughout November and December – when many people voted for their favourite images.
The winners each received digital photograph frames.
Jon O’Donoghue, at Trelissick said: “When you know a place like Trelissick so well it’s great to then see it through the eyes of others via their photographs.”
